I moved to Portland, Oregon in late summer of 2010 to build miniature textile props for LAIKA Entertainment feature films. Items like curtains, rugs, various furniture covered in fabric, teddy bears, and a giant eye-ball sea monster. In addition to my daily job, I occasionally take on freelance work, and also work on my personal stop motion film, Pork Chopped!
Before moving to the west coast, I lived in NYC for almost 12 years. I started off working various jobs as a waitress, PA, and as a nanny before finishing my BFA at The School of Visual Arts. During and after that I was lucky enough to work for the Jim Henson company and Sesame Street for about 5 years. I was trained in wrangling, prop and puppet building by many talented artists.
While I miss NYC at times, I have a wonderful life with my husband Josh. I am hopeful for the future to have other artistic adventures and work with many talented and inspiring people.
